About Us

Herbamed was established in 1992 as a developer of pioneering technologies serving the natural medicines and food additives market, and a manufacturer of unique products based on these innovative technologies, all supported by clinical research. The company was founded by Dr. Haim Aviv, a renowned scientist specializing in biotechnology.
In recent years, Herbamed has become increasingly aware of the growing demand for health promoting functional foods and beverages. Studies repeatedly show that health conscious consumers demonstrate a strong preference for receiving neutraceuticals of their choice in the food they consume and the beverages they drink, rather than in the form of pills or capsules.
Consequently, the company has made a strategic decision to focus on this expanding market. During the course of the research it has carried out, its experts have identified the obstacles hindering advancement in this field:
·        The low bioavailability of many nutraceuticals, due to poor absorption in the human body
·        The low solubility of many important ingredients, which render their addition to beverages ineffective, and prevent their marketing in the form of functional beverages that truly offer significant health benefits
·        Poor taste

Building on the expertise and experience of its founder and R&D Manager, Herbamed has developed a pioneering drug delivery technology: Emulsome™, to enhance the bioavailability of medicines and food supplements.

The first product developed by Herbamed based on this pioneering technology is Ultrasome™-CoQ10, which comprises an important breakthrough: it is available in the form of a powder with improved solubility, and is therefore extremely beneficial to manufacturers of food additives and natural medicines. Ultrasome™-CoQ10 is already included as a component in the products of numerous such manufacturers around the world.

Emulsome CoQ10 formulated in liquid can be conveniently added to beverages and drinks.

CoQ10 is recognized as an important food additive for the treatment and prevention of cardiac and other diseases, which also improves patients quality of life. The global CoQ10 market is estimated at $800 million annually.

Additional products based on Herbameds proprietary Emulsome™ technology are presently under development.

Herbameds client base comprises manufacturers of natural medicines and food additives, to which it markets and sells both directly and through specialized distributors.
