Dr. Haim Aviv - Founder and CEO
Dr. Haim Aviv is a renowned scientist, who is considered a pioneer of the biotechnology industry in Israel, which is well-recognized as highly advanced by international standards.
Dr. Aviv received his Ph.D. degree from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, where he served as an Associate Professor from 1979 until 1995 and presently serves as Professor Emeritus. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Yeda Ltd. – the commercial arm of Weizmann Institute.
His prior academic background includes apost-doctorate at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, USA, and B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Over the years, Dr. Aviv founded several biotechnology companies and also held executive positions in companies active in this field both in Israel and in the USA, including Biotechnology General Corp., Pharmos Corp., Predix, Diatech, Novamed and Herbamed.
Additionally, Dr. Aviv chaired and served as a member of the Israel National Committee for Biotechnology and other advisory committees dealing with biotechnology.
In recognition of his invaluable contribution to the field of biotechnology in Israel, Dr. Aviv was granted an honorary doctorate by Ben Gurion University of the Negev, on whose Board of Directors he also serves.
Dr. Aviv has published numerous scientific papers, and has registered several patents in the field of biotechnology.
Dr. Anat Solomon – Research and Development Manager
Dr. Anat Solomon is an accomplished scientist and researcher in the fields of biochemistry and food sciences. For over a decade, she has acquired extensive experience in research and development, as well as in research project management.
Dr. Solomons areas of expertise include the development of formulations of functional materials and their assimilation into food and beverages, and enhancing the bioavailability of nutraceuticals. She also specializes in the initiation, characterization and assimilation of new research and work methods that significantly streamline processes and enhance results.
Her prior professional experience includes, in addition to the development of new formulations and their testing in vivo and in vitro, a teaching position at the Hebrew University of Jerusalems Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, on the physical properties of foods, food technology and the principles of chemistry.
Dr. Solomons academic background includes two B.Sc. degrees from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, in chemistry, and in biochemistry and food sciences, followed by an M.Sc. degree in food sciences with a research orientation, and a Ph.D. in biochemistry – also from the Hebrew University. She has also taken a variety of courses in related areas, such as quality management.
Snir Yagil – Operations Manager
Snir Yagil graduated from the Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya, Israel (IDC) with a B.A. degree in Business Administration, with honors, majoring in marketing.
Mr. Yagil commenced his professional career as a business consultant in a unique project executed jointly by Bank Hapoalim – Israels largest bank, Deloitte Israel (Brightman Almagor) – a leading provider of financial consultancy services, and the IDCs MBA program. Within this capacity, as one of three carefully selected excelling MBA graduates, he provided business consulting services to several privately owned companies.
Subsequently, Snir Yagil served as Operations Manager of an international cosmetics firm, where he was in charge of the manufacturing operation, including dealings with suppliers in Israel and abroad, import of raw materials, computerized inventory and supply chain management. Mr. Yagil was also responsible for the preparation of long-term manufacturing plans, setting goals and objectives, developing and streamlining work procedures and processes, regulatory compliance, budgeting and financing issues, and managing the companys after sales customer service.
